The NYSAFP is the New York Land affiliate of the American University of Family Physicians (AAFP). We are physicians, residents, and students who are dedicated to promoting the field of family unit medicine and to improving the health of patients, families and communities through education and advancement.

Students meet the first Tuesday of each month at eight pm to discuss all things student-related. These informal meetings are open to all NYSAFP students. Bring your questions, learn what NYSAFP tin do for you, and proceeds a greater understaning of family unit medicine opportunities. Previous months' topics included: The Match and Letters of Reccomendations, The Breadth of Family Medicine, Lobby Day & Advocacy Activities, Social Justice Bug, Acing the Interview, and more!

Funding Opportunities:
NYSAFP offers scholarships that promote education in family unit medicine.
- National Briefing - scholarships are awarded to residents and students wishing to attend the AAFP NC in August. To read what previous attendees thought of the briefing, click hither. Click here to apply for the 2021 conference!
- Summer Externships - NYSAFP & AAFP matching externship grants - students wishing to work with a family unit physicians tin can apply for an externship grant in Apr; honour recipients notified in May. Application is here.
- Conference Schorships - Scholarships to attend annual CME consequence, Winter Weekend. Applications are bachelor here in August, recipients will exist notified in Nov.
